Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EduArc Hub ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform. EduArc Hub is operated by EduArc AI and provides an open educational resource platform for sharing and discovering HTML visualizations.

2. User Accounts

Account Creation: To upload content, you must create an account using email/password or Google OAuth. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.

Account Responsibilities: You are responsible for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

Guest Access: Browsing, previewing, and downloading resources does not require an account.

3. Content Upload Requirements

When uploading content to EduArc Hub, you must comply with the following requirements:

  • File Format: Only standalone HTML files (.html) are accepted
  • File Size: Maximum 5MB per file
  • External Resources: Only whitelisted CDNs are allowed (cdnjs.cloudflare.com, cdn.jsdelivr.net, unpkg.com, cdn.plot.ly, d3js.org, fonts.googleapis.com)
  • Metadata: Accurate title, description, subject, difficulty level, and grade level must be provided

4. Content Licensing

All content uploaded to EduArc Hub is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). By uploading content, you:

  • Confirm you are the original creator or have permission to share the content
  • Grant others the right to share, adapt, and use the content (including commercially) with attribution
  • Agree that derivatives must be shared under the same license
  • Acknowledge that you cannot revoke this license once content is published

5. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited on EduArc Hub:

  • Copyrighted materials without proper authorization
  • Plagiarized content
  • Hateful, discriminatory, or harassing content
  • Sexually explicit or pornographic material
  • Violent, graphic, or disturbing content
  • Malicious code, viruses, or security exploits
  • Commercial advertisements or promotional spam
  • Low-quality or non-educational content
  • Content that violates any applicable laws

6. Copyright Infringement (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on EduArc Hub infringes your copyright:

  1. Submit a report via the "Report" button or email hello@eduarc.ai
  2. Content will be temporarily hidden within 24 hours pending review
  3. The uploader will be notified and given opportunity to respond
  4. We will review evidence and make a determination
  5. Repeat offenders may have their accounts suspended

7. Platform Usage Rules

To ensure fair access for all users, the following limits apply:

  • Upload Limit: 10 files per day per user
  • Download Limit: 100 downloads per hour per IP address
  • API Requests: 1000 requests per hour per user

Attempting to circumvent these limits or abuse the platform may result in temporary or permanent suspension.

8. Content Moderation

All uploaded content undergoes a review process including automated validation, AI content moderation, and human review. We reserve the right to approve, reject, or remove any content at our discretion. Approved content may still be removed later if found to violate these terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

EduArc Hub is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not endorse or verify the accuracy of user-uploaded content. Users are responsible for evaluating the suitability of any content for their purposes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EduArc Hub and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from user-uploaded content.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Content you uploaded under CC BY-SA 4.0 will remain available under that license even after account deletion.
